Blackbird grew from founder Demonte Alexander’s belief that giving back begins with a willingness to serve, regardless of wealth.
Since 2021, the Invitational has brought that belief to the golf course, gathering people around a shared commitment to student-athletes and their education.

Blackbird works with Dream Builders of Texas Charitable Foundation, a San Antonio-based 501(c)(3), to support scholarships, mentorship, equipment, and tournament entry fees.
Scholars return to volunteer. Partners return to support. The relationships continue after the last putt.
The J. Leonor Memorial Scholarship Fund
A belief that
lives on.
Honoring Justin Leonor, a friend and advocate who believed in Blackbird’s students from the beginning.
Established in 2026, the fund carries forward Blackbird’s investment in student-athletes, with renewable financial support and ongoing mentorship through Dream Builders of Texas Charitable Foundation.
